Together at the Top

As much as providing resources and links are useful, Accelerate feels support from experienced mentors is vital to success. Having someone to go to for advice, talk you through your ideas and provide some form of a sounding board can be invaluable. Therefore, we have orchestrated this free mentorship scheme.

how it works

Fill in the application for our Mentorship Scheme

Get matched with a mentor based on your interests

Connect with your mentor over a 3 month period

The 1-1 Mentorship Scheme gives A-Level and University students the opportunity to have regular meetings with a suitable mentor to discuss topics including university and course recommendations as well as application or career advice.

Mentors are assigned based on the likeness of their career path and experiences to that of the mentees. By doing this, Accelerate makes sure the mentors will provide relevant advice, tips, and support as they will have studied, gained experience, or secured a job in the mentee’s desired field.

How the scheme works:

  • The Mentorship Scheme will start on 13th September and finish on 26th November 2021.

  • Students will be designated one mentor for the duration of the scheme.

  • Mentors and mentees are expected to have fortnightly catchups and can communicate via messages, however; it is advised to commit at least 1 hour of call with your mentor every month. The aim is to have fortnightly conversations which are expected to last approximately 30 minutes.

Please keep in mind:

  • The timings of the contact are fluid and can be done whenever both parties are free.

  • Communications will take place via our internal platform.

  • It will be your responsibility to maintain contact with your mentor for the duration of the scheme.

  • Deviations from these guidelines are possible if agreed between the mentor and mentee.
